| Introduction | I am a temporary Archivist in the BC Archives, which means I get to have fun for 6 months or so digging through fascinating old records and information – a dream come true! After working in Records Management in the UK for three years, I returned to Canada to do an Archival Studies degree, in which I focused on the records and archives of the Aboriginal peoples of British Columbia. That led me to work in some wonderful places, most notably the Nisga’a village of New Aiyansh, and in Gold River with the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation. As a child my favourite place to visit in my whole world (which mostly covered Vancouver Island) was the Royal BC Museum, so you can imagine my thrill when, after moving back to my hometown, I landed a position working here, with the records of our beautiful and varied province! |
