| Introduction | I attempt to create serene, contemplative landscapes where one can be alone in a natural, beautiful setting. I enjoy working with pastels because of their unique ability to create soft, dreamy images; and acrylics for their saturation and brilliance that can create the darkest of shadows and the lightest of highlights -the blue or yellow of the sky, the terra cotta and burnt sienna of the ground and turquoise in dark shadows is a combination that I’m very drawn to for the vibrancy of color and strong emotive light. When I moved to the north shore of Boston where there are many saltmarshes along the coast, I found an area rich in natural beauty where the change of light and seasons provides infinite inspiration. |
