| Introduction | Marianne Lijewski is an ambitious photojournalist who strives to capture images that will tell stories and impact hearts. Her love for photography began around the age of 12, when she received a purple 110 camera that she used during her travels with the family.
During high school, a black-and-white darkroom photography class prompted her to continue pursuing photography at Okaloosa-Walton College from 2004-2006. She then transferred to the University of Florida, where in December of 2008 she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism. While at UF, she was a stringer for the nation’s largest student-run paper, The Independent Florida Alligator starting in the fall of 2007. In the summer of 2008, she was promoted to photo editor and also interned at Florida’s #1-ranked community newspaper, The High Springs Herald. Post-graduation, she worked at the Northwest Florida Daily News for two and a half years. She is now a staff photographer at the Killeen Daily Herald in Killeen, Texas. She hopes to broaden her photographic experiences through travel and new assignments. |
