Introduction	I am a published author of poetry and non-fiction living in Clayoquot Sound on Vancouver Island, Canada. This area, the unceded territories of the ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ and ʔaahuusʔatḥ nations, has rare vast tracts of unindustrialized ancient temperate rainforests but, despite being a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, is not fully protected against resource extraction industries.
