| Introduction | The subject of politics has always fascinated me as it seems to attract both the worst and the best in human beings. "Cush over Cairns" is a tongue in cheek look at our local Government, and the type of Council we just might have one day!!! It was inspired by listening to a local radio talk-back program during which the "shock jock" kept on saying over and over, "CAIRNS needs a STRONG LEADER.....". So I have invented one! I stress that all the characters in this series are fictitious and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental. "Cush over Cairns" is my first fiction written in blogformat. Since commencing this in April 2011, I now have a regular readership from around the world and it has grown into one of Cairns' most popular blogs, attracting a readership of up to 1,000 views per week. I have no doubt that readers in other countries can identify also with the issues raised in "Cush over Cairns", particularly the interference and dictates of the Murdoch media machine. I thank all of you and hope you continue to read and enjoy the social and political satire. I welcome any feedback from readers as comments which can be posted anonymously. |
