Introduction	I am the mother of five amazing sons. Yes, I birthed an entire basketball team! I am, of course, the ref (and head cheerleader!) and my husband Dave is the coach! One of our starting five and key players - Tyson- is now scoring big in heaven and cheering us all on down below. I am passionate about motherhood, lighthouses, purple, chocolate, writing, and running. I enjoy cake decorating, baking, and shopping (just a little too much!) I named this blog Beacon of Hope in honor of my son Tyson. He is definitely MY beacon of hope.
Interests	I am the mother of five incredible and outstanding boys! (boysRus!) My husband is a physician specializing in Internal Medicine. I am a (SAHM) and love it! Being a mother is the greatest thing in my life. I am very active in my church and currently serve with the young women in our ward. It is my favorite calling so far! I am on the State Board of the Utah Association of American Mothers Inc. (the greatest organization for mothers!) having served previously for 10 years as a chapter president and also as the State President. Favorite movies	I love ALL the old Doris Day movies. The original Yours, Mine, and Ours, Family Band, Sound of Music, The Notebook, Opportunity Knocks, Somewhere in Time, Message in a Bottle, The Way We Were, Steel Magnolias, Far and Away, Top Gun, Pride and Prejudice....I'll stop!
Favorite music	I actually like almost all kinds of music excluding heavy metal and serious opera... my FAVS right now are Josh Groban, all the contemporary artists and the oldies - Billy Joel, Kenny Loggins, James Taylor, etc....., Jenny Phillips, Rascal Flatts, Garth Brooks, Donny Osmond (it's true! He has a great voice) and dare I say...um...Barry Manilow? I listen to mostly soft rock but have a new appreciation for country.
Favorite books	Power of Positive Parenting, The Great and Terrible Series, Christlike Parenting, The Anguish and Adventure of Adversity, Work and the Glory series, This Life is a Test, Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, I Didn't Plan to be a Witch, I Don't Have to Make Everything All Better...if I don't stop now, this will be in the hundreds! I love books...almost as much as chocolate!

What did you dream when you ate a spider while sleeping?

That I was being tortured in the worse possible way! I am absolutely terrified of spiders!
