Introduction	Phoenix is my pen name. My family name is Chiu. I was born in I-Lan, Taiwan . My highest diploma is a bachelor degree from the Applied English Department of Ming Chuan University. I worked as a bilingual sales secretary in import and export companies for several years. I now live in the United States. I love writing, drawing, cooking, and photography. I am a self-taught artist with a life-long interest in art. I often draw with colored pencils and in 2006 I began working with pastels. I wrote and illustrated a children's book, The Lost Sea Cat, in 2010. My work has been exhibited in many local juried art shows where I have been very successful. I am also the author and illustrator of many children's stories in World Journal Newspaper which is the most popular Chinese language newspaper in America and Europe. My pastels are uniquely realistic, using bright colors to catch the viewer's eye, from landscape and floral, to domestic pets.
