Introduction After nearly 20 years interest in Stitched Textiles, I finally went back to college to extend my passion for embroidery and design. Graduating in 2007. Life has not been the same since! still shocked and flattered that the final show at College was noticed and was awarded a 'Graduate Showcase' visiting London, Harrogate and Dublin. A number of exhibitions followed covering U.K. and Europe. All very exciting! The work I produce is inspired by Shakespeares' play 'As You Like It' and the speech....'all the worlds a stage'. The work is very experimental & theatrical, made from recycled papers and stitch , fashioned into a circle it creates an illusion of a lacy fabric and remenisent to the Elizabethan Ruffs. All framed in bespoke perspex boxes it becomes A piece of Contemporary Art. see web site www.jillflower.com. I now give workshops ,completeing a brooch in a day, whilst learning about the unusual paper technique. All very experimental!
