IntroductionI am an old soul in a not-so-old body and I embrace my silver hairs. I'm probably NOT wearing shoes. I am drawn by forces beyond my control to falling-down old houses and barns (and horses). I have a freakish ability to spot/coax/catch/rescue and wrangle lost, injured and misfit creatures ranging from horses to turtles. Seriously. I love my husband and feel like he was a gift from God, handpicked for me and it was inevitable. My children are the breath in my body and I will never be the same since becoming their mom. They make me laugh and cry and my heart feels like it will burst sometimes when I look at them. Oh, and I still peek in on them when they're asleep. I will probably wear overalls when I'm 80 and if I haven't FINALLY moved to the country by then, somebody'd better find me a nursing home in the sticks. I have a weakness for handmade soap. And mittens. And quilts. And my hubby's undershirts. I don't like cold, grey winter days but I do like the sound of rain on my old tin roof. I am really very attached to my geriatric turkey, and I'd like to think the feeling is mutual. If I didn't have my animals, my life would be less of a sitcom and I'd be sad.
InterestsOld houses, old people, old poultry ;0) Horses, dogs, cats, sheep, squirrels, bunnies, chipmunks, poultry, woodchucks... oh hell, critters in general.
Favorite moviesThe Other Sister, Gone with the Wind, Cold Mountain, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Simon Birch, Steel Magnolias, Fried Green Tomatoes, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas, A Muppet Christmas Carol, The Muppet Movie, Wizard of Oz and lots of others that I can't recall at the moment, but you get the idea.
Favorite musicCountry (NOT Country Western), and NOT the washtub-and-moonshine-jug kind of bluegrass and folk, Eagles, JT, Earth, Wind & Fire, Queen, Edwin McCain, Lyle Lovett (how do you classify him, anyway?), old jazz and lots of other random stuff that my brothers send me. I guess my taste in music is pretty ecletic.
Favorite booksThe Education of Little Tree, Dog Heaven, anything by Chris Bohjalian, Christopher Moore, Tom Bodett or Bailey White
