| Introduction | The random memories and musings of an atomic flâneur. I am a child of the atomic age, my birth bracketed by the Cuban missile crisis and the end of the Mercury space programme. Until I was 25 I had a nomadic existence, moving from town to town every two years. I lived in Nigeria, France, Austria, the USA, Germany... For the last 25 years I have lived and worked in London, "that great cesspool into which all the loungers and idlers of the Empire are irresistibly drained." |
