| Introduction | I'm Ahmad Al-Gaafary, an Egyptian Muslim currently working as a technical writing team leader at a software house in Cairo, Egypt. I've been in this "wonderful" business since 2001. Prior to that, I worked in miscellaneous fields, including translation & tourism. I've been married since 2002. My wife works in the same business and - strangely enough - holds the same position in a near-by place no more than 400 meters away from my workplace. The truth is, the whole credit goes to her that I took on this career path. I was born in the small, quiet city of Hurghada, located right on the eastern coast of the Red Sea, now known as one of Egypt’s “biggest” tourist attractions. Back then when I used to live there, the place was much better, with lots of familiar faces to see on the street and less of the rough life of a tourist city. The simple, coastal desert environment of my home town has contributed largely to the person I am now. I’ll write more about myself when the time comes, even though that’s the one thing I don’t like about blogs. But I guess that’s what this page is all about any way, isn’t it? For now, let’s keep it at that. |
