| Introduction | Dr Soe Htet is Deputy Director in the Department of Health Planning of the Ministry of Health in Myanmar. He is currently in Australia on a four year Australian Leadership Award Scholarship, studying for a PhD, supervised by Prof Ajay Mahal at Monash University. His research topic is the Evaluation of a Maternal and Child Health Services' Health Equity Fund supported by GAVI in Myanmar. Dr Htet previously completed a MPH (2008) in the University of Melbourne's Program Evaluation stream, including a minor thesis on the evaluation of hospital information systems in Myanmar (under Prof David Dunt and Dr Arthur Hsueh). Dr Htet is hopes to gain some insights into Australian and global approaches to MCH, health systems strengthening, and public health leadership, as well as establish longer-term connections with Australia and globally. |
