| Introduction | In the many decades of my life, I have worn many hats, some more important to me than others. Like everyone else, I have learned some of life's lessons easily by heeding the words of those I thought wise and by observing the results of others' choices and experiences. In those instances when I chose to ignore the red flags and roadblocks and plowed stubbornly ahead, some lessons were learned painfully indeed. My purpose is to share with you what I have come to understand and believe, so that your path in life may be a little smoother, a little calmer, a little more peaceful, and happier.
