| Introduction | I'm Taylor's mom and this is about him, not me. Taylor is 15 and was born with CHARGE Syndrome. He is deaf-blind although his hearing loss is very mild and he manages to get around quite well in spite of his low vision. He had successful open heart surgery when he was 21 months old. He doesn't speak, but let's us know what he wants most of the time! Taylor also has seizures which are pretty well controlled with medication. His scoliosis currently gives us the most trouble. He has 2 titanium rods in his back that are expandable. They help straighten his back so that his breathing isn't compromised. More important than any of this stuff is that Taylor is the happiest child in the world. He's always smiling and almost never complains about anything. He is a real trooper! |
