| Introduction | I was born in Tokyo, Japan, in the Tokyo Army hospital. My father was in the U.S. Army and stationed in Tokyo where he met my mother. Like many Army "brats," I went to a number of schools before graduating from high school. In my case, I graduated from Columbus High School when we got transferred from Okinawa to Fort Benning my senior year. I then went to Columbus College, which is now Columbus State University. I graduated in 1975 with a degree in political science, and I've been working at the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer since I graduated. I tell people I have the best job in town. |
