| Interests | I have been trained in the pursuit of creating original experiences and spaces.I do this by first ratifying a strong guiding philosophy. Which is then iterated through a series of graphical steps towards an architecture. Each graphical transmutation I take to evolve the lateral elements in the pictorial investigation that tie in most closely with the guiding concept or philosophy. The guiding philosophy being implemented after a full and thorough political,socio-economical and phenomenal analysis of the site in its wider context.As well as examinations of precedents including but not limited to architectural. The construction details and materials chosen tie in with the symbolism and the material expression of the chosen philiosophy to evoke the sense of space the philosophy calls for. Avoiding direct derivative of any precedent graphic or any known architectural precedent. Creating new architectural typologies. I am neither conceptual architect nor technical designer. But rather I am an all rounder - or I will be when I refine my process. I pursue both aspects of experience generation through spatial and component design from a stance of first principles - whether this is about finding the appropriate construction technology or understanding the nature of the site. My interest is in testing contemporary building programmes and technologies of building from first principles to develop and architecture that is not neccessarily stylized. But rather one that is eloquently reflective of its contemporary temporal context. |
