| Introduction | I have been working in science in some capacity for over 40 years. My masters was in atmospheric chemistry and dispersion modeling (introduced the next gen dispersion modeling technique to the old gaurd), PhD in atmospheric science and ecology (first to grow plants in a meteorological model - and let bison roam around feeding on them, first to simulate a hurricane, Andrew, in a mesocale meteorological model that led to the forecasts you see now. Also coupled it to an ocean model). Diversity of knowledge has been a lifelong pursuit. My journey began on my 7th birthday in 1969 after returning from our yearly vacation on a N. Minnesota lake. My family watched the first step on the moon. I told the some day I will work for NASA and love on a lake. Checked that box off my list. Now I like to spread my knowledge and like to add enticing twists. Currently I provide Covid guidance to public health with a pandemic model I created in my "retirement". No questions are "stupid" I welcome them. |
