About me

Gender Female
Introduction The word 'Hubaei' is Korean for 'Junior' similar to the Japanese 'Kohai'. I am 17 years old, one belt away from a black belt in Shotokan Karate and a yellow in Taekwondo. I took a break from Karate as I found myself stagnating, I was never taught anything new and spent my lessons teaching white belts while my own fitness dwindled, I was the oldest student in the club and no competition remained, frustrated I decided to try something different. Taekwondo. Within a few lessons I'd fallen in love with it. Although there are many similarites between the two arts, certain things about Taekwondo are as starkly different from Karate as night is from day. While, I do not necessarily like these differences, they are a lot to get used too. This is my diary recording my ups and downs, my good times and my bad times, my victories and my failures while I pursue my goal of some day being an Olympian.
