About me

Introduction I have 36 years in the teaching profession. My experiences are many and varied having taught all grades from 2nd through post graduate school. Previously I taught algebra/pre-algebra and social studies at Northwood. Prior to this I served as the gifted ed. coordinator for Evergreen and Midway. Much of the 1980’s were spent teaching overseas near London, England as well as in an all-boys junior preparatory school near Boston, whose alumni included Senators John Kerry and Ted Kennedy, Howard Hughes and Seth McFarlane. In 1993 I was selected by the National Geographic Society as a National Teacher Consultant and was a past director of the Washington State Summer Geography Institute. I was chosen by the WA St. Student Learning Commission to serve on their advisory board. I spent time in Japan and China as part of a teacher exchange program I have recently traveled to Russia and was a guest at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. Recent travels took me to Belgium, The Netherlands, UK and Italy. Last year I was honored as the KHQ/ Inland Empire Teacher of the Month.
