| Introduction | I grew up as a Presbyterian and recently converted to atheism. After reading a number of atheist books, I found the philosophy genuinely resonated with how I'd felt for a long time. The most influential of the books was Richard Dawins' The God Delusion. It demonstrated to me that being an atheist is something one should not feel guilty for; on the contrary, it is something that can be good for society and personally fulfilling. I have made it my project to explore how religion functions in society by visiting a different church each week. It is an honest attempt to observe and understand. I hope to experience a cross-section of diverse religious ceremonies, and in doing so, offer my observations to interested readers. Thanks for checking it out, and spread the word... I prefer to remain anonymous for the sake of the project itself and because my day job could potentially be compromised. |
