Introduction I've always been a voracious reader and a fan of historical fiction, including historical romance, and after I began working on my first novel, "Fire at Midnight," I joined Romance Writers of America and began entering their chapter contests in order to receive feedback on my work. One of the contests I entered, The Golden Palm, was judged by Medallion Press editor Helen Rosburg, who awarded my entry first place. This contest led to an offer by Medallion to publish "Fire at Midnight," which is scheduled for publication in March 2009. My fiction has been honored with awards from over 60 writing contests, including the Grand Prize from the Maryland Writer’s Association Novel Contest, the bronze medal from the Pacific Northwest Writers Association Literary Contest, and finalist for the Daphne du Maurier award for unpublished writers.
