| Interests | You could say crafting is in my blood. My great-grandfather was the live-in groundskeeper at The National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. When he wasn't chasing off droves of wild dogs with a shotgun, he could be found whittling dollhouse furniture or decorating pine cones with paint and glitter. I wouldn't say I'm an artist so much as an artisan. I've long-loved the folk art of Los Dia de Muertos and we always had Native American folk art hanging in my childhood home. My style is to decorate in layers using unusual color combinations. My days as a production assistant, event planner and project manager were where I used to flex my creativity and ability to think on my toes. Now I filter that energy into my family and craft. While not a girly-girl myself, I have found myself outnumbered in testosterone in my household, so this is my way of injecting a bit of estrogen, functionality and order into the world! My pact is that I will do this as long as I enjoy it and it brings others joy, and not a day longer. Because of this, you'll know that each item is made with care and special attention. |
