Gender Male
Occupation Musical Instrument Maker
Introduction I have been making instruments since 1984. I graduated from the Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City in 1988.I started working for Machold Rare Violins in Bremen Germany after I graduated. I had the opportunity to study some of the finest instruments in the world. I also began making copies of some of the instruments I studied. I was fortunate enough to get to know Roger Hargrave and learn a great deal from him. I opened my own violin making and repair shop in 1991. After winning two awards in 2002 at the Violin Society of America competition I decided to finish an F model mandolin that I had started 10 years before. I never thought that it would change my course as much as it did. That mandolin was sold to David Grisman and my mandolin business was born. I still make violin family instruments and I always will. But for now I'm making mandolins for a few clients.
