| Introduction | I transplanted myself to Oregon a few years ago by way of Pennsylvania, although I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. I recently graduated with a degree in environmental science and philosophy, and have discovered my passion in wine. For the moment I am living my dream as a traveling winemaker, working the current vintage in New Zealand (spring 09). Next on the travel agenda are Tasmania and perhaps South Africa and Italy. My goal is to gain enough experience to land a permanent job at a reputable winery, and eventually find a bit of land in the north Willamette valley, plant a garden and some vines and live the good life. I love backpacking and skiing, and I recently took up whitewater kayaking. I really enjoy cooking and like to think I am pretty good at it, and whenever possible I try to learn how to make things from scratch. My favorite nights usually involve friends, food, wine and board games, although I love seeing live music too. I’m an avid homebrewer and am hoping to track down a good mushroom hunting guide (maybe I’ll even become one myself). I don't really see the value in television anymore. |
