| Introduction | I like to draw and sketch and doodle. In fact I have to. All my life I have drawn and I will continue to draw for as long as I am able. I may not be very good, but it keeps me off the streets. I like making digital stuff, too and I've been dabbling with Photoshop and the like for several years. I can make images digitally that I simply cannot draw. Of course I can draw images I simply cannot make digitally so it all balances out. Sometimes I combine the two and make one big image that I simply cannot make. If that makes any sense. I’m a firm believer that every line I draw, every pixel I place, is done so deliberately by some part of my brain or other. A lot of times I will make an image without any real initial direction. Something may strike my fancy and I’ll play with the idea, or I may just start drawing or whatever and see what comes out. The great thing about this for me is that I often find meaning in the images after the fact; I’ll use them as a sort of meditation in order to understand myself better. It’s my hope that you will find something of your own in my images, even if it’s a complete contradiction to what I thought it meant. |
