| Introduction | What can I say? I'm just a somewhat normal and somewhat quirky girl from the hills of West Virginia. But, the one thing I can say about myself is, I love music with integrity and artistry whether it be indie, alternative or alt-country/bluegrass. But, throughout the years I have noticed that my heart belongs to folk, bluegrass, and traditional styles of music. As a young girl and woman, I can remember visiting my father's family who lived deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and listening to my grandfather, my dad, and all of my uncles playing old gospel, country and bluegrass tunes on their guitars or banjo. And, as I've grown older, those images and sounds have stuck with me - morphing into a love of the music. This transformation has allowed me to appreciate my roots as an Appalachian woman, who's heart will always belong with the music, history, culture, and the mountians. |
