| Introduction | Jan Marlene is an actress, poet, writer, and retired Educator. She received her education from the University of Houston Park’s School of Theatre with both the B.A., and M.A. degrees in Theatre with an emphasis in Public Speaking, and English; earned the MEd. Degree in Educational Technology – Learning Resources Librarianship from Prairie View A & M University. Later, she was certificated by the Rice University’s Children’s Intensive Writing Workshop. As a Teen,Jan was a graduate of the prestigious Houston’s Alley Theatre’s Merry-Go-Round School of Acting for Young People. Throughout her life, Jan Marlene has embodied theatre and performing arts intensely through competing and participating in school, church, and community events. She is the author of "Rainbows of Life - A Celebration of the Soul- A compilation of Prose and Poetry. Due - Fall 2008.
