| Introduction | I am 56 and have been married for 26 years to a really good man. It wasn't God's plan for me to have human children so I turned to the fuzzy kind. My husband and I have been involved in rescue and fostering. We had to stop fostering because we didn't want to give up any of them! That's how we ended up with 13 cats and 5 dogs - 4 of which are great danes. So when I'm not working or cross stitching, I'm picking up poop or scooping out cat boxes. Feeding, watering and playing fetch take up the rest of the time. I was born and raised in California and my husband and I have been in Pahrump for 15 years now. I spent the first 5 years trying to get out of Pahrump, but it kind of grows on you. I've been a mail carrier here for 11 years. My husband and I spend a lot of time redoing the house for the sack of the animals. Like putting down hardwood floors instead of carpeting and making one of the spare bedrooms the "cats" room. Taking care of that many animals is a full time job in itself and I would much rather do that and stitch but that doesn't pay the bills. |
