| Introduction | My BFA training as an artist is in Art Direction. I love designing and just being an artist. To explore a new medium or one I haven't used in a while brings me joy. To see how it can open my eyes and what it adds to my everyday work as an Art Director/Teacher in the classroom is refreshing. I believe art direction allows me to bring a different aspect to the classroom because in advertising I use every form of art needed to express the idea and myself. Two major parts of my teaching are Discipline Based Art Education and the Design Thinking Skills Process of art. Its these two methods that allow students to realize the why's and how's of art and what we create as artist. Of course I love life and everything it has to offer, which is why being an art educator provides me the opportunity to include life experiences into my lesson plans and classroom management style. I do my best to be part of everyday and allow that to flow into the other areas enhancing those around me.\ |
