| Introduction | Hello, my name is Laura, I am originally from the UK but am currently living and working in Ottawa, Canada. I studied at Leicester College of Performing Arts and graduated from there with a Trinity National Diploma in Musical Theatre. I went on the work as a dancer in India, Germany, and across the UK in various shows and performances before moving to Canada in 2013. Since living in Ottawa I have become a qualified ADAPT Teacher, I am a registered Acrobatique Teacher and have attended conferences and training sessions in Toronto and Las Vegas. I currently teach at 2 studios in the city and I have a variety of classes with varying ages. My transition from performer to teacher has made me realize the importance of continued education in dance - we can never stop learning and developing our teaching methods in order to always provide the best training for our students. I am now enrolled to complete a BA(Hons) in Professional Practice with Middlesex University, I am excited to learn more about myself and career as I go through the course and build my professional network by meeting other passionate individuals in the industry. |
