Introduction	Following an unexpected divorce that entirely changed my direction in life, I'm reassessing and learning to love the changes. The term 'down-sizing' is one I'm intimately familiar with now, being forced to leave the dream home that I designed and built and the 40 acres of heaven it sat on. Instead of living off-grid, an hour out of town and just 700 yards from the Canadian border, I'm now situated in a 10' x 16' cabin with no running water just a couple miles from town with my dog and cat - the small chicken flock enclosed in a run just north of the cabin. Instead of the nearest neighbor being 13 miles away, they're just a hoot and a holler through the trees. I'll trade plowing a 4.5 mile long driveway for a 1/4-mile one, and I'll miss that. But, there's something to be said for the "impulse" convenience of being so close to town!
