About me

GenderFemale
OccupationRetired Registerd Nurse & Midwife (Retired)
LocationSouthborough, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England, United Kingdom
IntroductionI am a registered nurse & midwife. I've delivered hundreds of babies & I spent 10 years working as a midwife on a SCBU in the ITU. I also have a diploma in cancer care. I had been accepted to do the degree when I was struck down with Lupus / Chronic lung (associated with the Auto-immune condition where all infection attacks my lungs)/ Arthritis (mainly in my spine, neck, knees, hips and now my hands). I almost died twice last year & having come face to face with my own mortality my mantra is "To use each day to the fullest I can as if it's my last", and to value those who do care rather than to worrying about those who don't.
InterestsScrapbooking, reading, TV, Card-making & jewellry making & I love to spend time with my family & I love my Westie dog, Rosie, my guinea pigs & my loppy bunny (who used to be a girl & suddenly became a boy - I didn't check as he was a re-home 7 I was told he was a she).
Favorite moviesEasy to follow, non - violent, nor unnecessary sex scenes.Tend to fall asleep & miss the plot!
Favorite musicAmy McDonald,James Blunt, Adele, Neil Diamond,Coldplayy, Michael Buble, Matt Cardle (!), anything from the 70's & any Easy Listening type.
Favorite booksI love to read - I always have. I could read before I went to school. Due to my illness I can no longer hold a hard/paperback so i have an E-Reader (great, once you get used to it). My favourite authors are: Jodi Picoult (have all her books), James Patterson ("Women's Murder Club" series especially), Marian Keyes, Cecelia Ahern, Alexander McCall Smith ("No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" series)& I've read a couple of John Grisham. I enjoy an ecclectic choice of books.
