| Introduction | The Association of Seafood Producers (ASP) is a not-for-profit industry trade association representing seafood processors throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Founded in 2003, ASP has become the unified voice of the province’s seafood sector, promoting sustainability, responsible resource management, and innovation at every level. We work collaboratively with governments, stakeholders, and global partners to ensure the long-term success of our fisheries and seafood processors. Over the years, ASP has led multiple Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certifications for species such as shrimp, snow crab, and Greenland halibut, setting national and international standards for sustainable practices. Our mission is to build a resilient, forward-looking seafood industry that supports good jobs, strong communities, and healthy oceans for generations to come. With over 20 years of leadership, advocacy, and industry collaboration, ASP continues to represent its members on key issues such as trade, pricing, certifications, and promotion of Newfoundland and Labrador’s world-class seafood. |
