| Introduction | Hi, I'm Deborah, I'm currently volunteering in the East End of Glasgow thanks to a little programme called Global Xchange! I decided to do Global Xchange because I wanted to learn how to use my skills to contribute to positive change in communtities, and the world! : ) I also wanted to experience living in a culture different to my own, and learn by meeting lots of new people - and I'm definitely doing that so far! The whole team is wonderful, I'm having a great time getting to know everyone and learning about the culture of Pakistan - but most of all, we're all learning what we have in common, which is even more interesting than the ways we're culturally different! I'm also meeting so many other people through the exchange - our host home families who are being so kind to us, people at work who are really inspiring in everything they do for their community, and loads of other people wanting to help us and meet our team - its been great how much support and enthusiasm we've had for what we're doing, so a big thank you to everyone who has helped make this happen so far! |
