About me

IntroductionI, DW, am an aspiring PR practitioner/labour rights activist. I am a dichotomy of silly and serious and a peon in corporate oblivion. I have spent the last 10 years working in a cubical for a Fortune 500 company -which shall remain nameless.
For the last several years I have been watching the rapid decline of ethical business practices all so that shareholders can see another nickel on the quarterly earnings statement. I see the desperation in the faces of co-workers. They are victimized as they grapple with a system that has been designed for their failure. Systems that work to quantify an employee's "poor performance" to justify the lack of raises and dwindling bonuses, pensions, benefits, overtime compensation, and the like. This blog I hope will provoke those that feel powerless to unite and stand against insatiable business practices of corporations who hypocritically launch Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaigns. Campaigns that claim to "add value" which is mere lip service especially where their human capital is concerned. Herein is my attempt to try to reclaim my soul from the grip of corporate pigs that escapade around in lipstick.
