Introduction	I was on the spiritual search for 25 years, jumping from one religion and philosophy to another, following one guru and teaching after another. Then one day I realized that I had the whole spiritual search backwards: I was trying to improve myself by making a bigger, better, and brighter "I" when the truth of the matter is that there is no "I" in the first place! I saw that our idea of self is simply a belief in a notion...a complete fiction with no basis in reality. And this has freed me from spending so much time and effort in improving this self that does not exist.
