Introduction	For so long, I was coming home from work, playing with my toddler for a few minutes, then going to the kitchen to prepare supper. I felt like I was cheating my daughter – and myself – out of irreplaceable and unrepeatable bonding time. Then I noticed how enthusiastically Elli responded when I asked her if she wanted to help me cook. After the first time she helped me make brownies, if I even said the word “cook,” she dashed to the kitchen shouting for her apron. I decided to make it a regular thing. “Cooking with Elli” chronicles my nearly always successful kitchen sessions with my daughter, which occur at least once a week. If the food burns, we have a great story to tell. If the food turns out scrumptious, we have a great story to tell.
