| Introduction | I'm a planet-loving gypsy addicted to moving air, visual space, and big salt water. I was Maine-ly raised among the woods, fields and tidal creeks of Casco Bay until my father sent me to "a top notch women's college outside of New England to get an MRS degree and make intelligent grandchildren." Goucher College gave me a superb education and I hung out in Maryland doing what was expected of me for 34 years. That done, I ran away to Hawai`i, where my heart found its home. I now live nine months in North Carolina and sofa surf or pet sit in Hawai`i every winter to be with dear friends, work wardrobe for the opera season and refill my cup with aloha. I love to experience new places, new cultures, here or abroad. I've visited most of the 50 states, Greece, France England, Canada and Mexico and spent extended time in Germany, Spain and Turkey (my favorite for it's beauty, diversity, and layer upon layer of cross-cultural history). But one of these days I mean to settle down in Hawai`i and write and write and write! |
