| Introduction | I take pride in working with a child's kind of curiousity and enthusiasm. Evoking this childish curiousity and enthusiasm in the viewer, is what I hope to achieve with my work.I am a great believer in any creative medium that allows playfulness, because my ambition has always been to have fun whilst making art. The intimate aspect of drawing and writing intrigues me in the same way I appreciate the nature of secrets and lies. The subtlety of thoughts never uttered never stops teasing me and the only thing I enjoy even more than keeping ideas privately, is to share them with others once I think that they have reached a substacial level of brilliance. The composition of my stories are a mixture of narrative and image and in these works I tend to take elements of old fables and fairytales, which, in my opinion, combined with a contemporary scenery, creates a very powerful type of genre. I find the concept of grown-ups passing on the same sense of amazement that they themselves experienced as children, one of the most beautiful things in life. I recognize this as the very essence of storytelling. |
