About me

Introduction Dancers in Dialogue is a place that connects ideas and people. Inspired by conversations between two teachers, one a choreographer and the other a writer, this site is a way to share thoughts about teaching, dancing, writing and creating. We see the intersections of movement and words as rich and under-explored terrain. We invite you to add your thoughts, comments and musings. Karen Reedy is director of Karen Reedy Dance and teaches courses in technique, pedagogy and Dance Appreciation at George Mason University. Kate Mattingly teaches courses in Dance History and Appreciation at George Mason University. She moved to the DC/VA area after living in Europe from 2005 to 2009. Their primary interests are environments that support and nurture artists and how innovative ideas are described, discussed and analyzed. Karen and Kate are part of the faculty of the School of Dance at George Mason University where their colleagues, students and classes inspire them on a daily basis. Part of our plan for this website is to share the incredible moments at GMU and beyond.
