Introduction	4-H is the youth component of North Carolina Cooperative Extension, which is a part of North Carolina State and NC A&T Universities. 4-H is open to all youth ages 5-19 regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, religion, sex, age, veteran status, or disability. The goal of 4-H is to assist youth and adults in becoming competent, coping, and contributing members of a global society, developing essential life skills through planned "learn by doing" experiences.
