| Introduction | He, from Nashville, TN, meets her, from Berlin, Germany, while volunteering for 2 weeks in Weimar (Germany) in 2000. Many emails, flights and phone conversations later, he moves to Germany, where they get married before eventually relocating to Nashville. He currently works on his PhD in Modern American History at Vanderbilt University and she just finished teaching high school for two years. They both just relocated from Nashville to Knoxville, where she has recently started a PhD program in Experimental (Social) Psychology. In the meantime they are happy to have summers off to get out of the house and onto the road. Traveling is a passion for both and has led them to many places in Europe, the US, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. (Likely, they are brooding about their next trip this very moment to get their minds off of all the other, less fun stuff they need to do.) Worried about boring friends & family with mass emails, they decided to update those interested in their adventures on the road and at home with this blog... (And since Lydia is furthest away from home, it seems she will do most of the reporting...) |
