| Introduction | The mission is simple . . . begin a movement geared at the awakening of a generation. The mission is to stoke the flame of the current follower of Christ, to ignite the unbeliever to a realization of the person of Jesus, and find Heaven’s pillar of fire leading the way. It’s a mobilization that has every young adult in Hampton Roads with third degree burns on their lips from spitting Heaven’s fire. |
| Interests | There is a movement of young adults who are awaking to the life altering presence of Jesus Christ. It’s a movement taking place on the college campus’ of students who are tired, hungry, and thirsty and are looking for something of substance that doesn’t leave them longer for more. It’s a movement among young businessmen and businesswomen who are tired of an unfulfilling pursuit after the American Dream. And its movement that cuts across every skin color and subculture. It’s a movement that is poised to change a nation. The question is . . . are you apart of it? |
| Favorite Movies | We’re called Awake because Scripture lays out three awakenings that take place – God’s heart awakening to Man, Man awakening from a spiritual slumber and coming to know God and His love and mercy, and the heart of the existing follow of Christ awakened to a life of passion for righteousness |
| Favorite Music | Every week, we have a ministry-wide gathering called 823. Here, young adults from across Hampton Roads join together for a night of worship, ministry, and fellowship with the primary goal being an encounter with the Presence of Jesus Christ. Come check us out Thursday nights at 8 pm. Life group is where you, as a young adult, can deeper your Christian walk, build authentic relationships, become equipped and released in personal ministry. Small groups range from 5-15 people who meet weekly in someone’s living room, apartment, or dorm suite. And there happening almost every night of the week. With the social Gospel in mind, each small group will reach out to our community as they “adopt a block.” Here each cell group once a month “adopts” a nursing home, city block, soup kitchen, etc. in belief that we are Jesus’ hands and feet to reach those on the fringe. And of course we have a ministry wide prayer and worship night each week. This movement is only going to happen by prayer and worship . . . so join us on Monday nights at 7 pm to pray in a movement |
