About me

Introduction The summer of 2007 I decided to can after buying a pressure canner at an auction; getting back to my roots seemed like a good idea. I was raised helping my grandfather in his garden and helping my mom can greenbeans, peaches, tomatoes, etc. I also made bread since I was 12 years old once or twice a week (I'm from a large family). We also made all our baked goods from scratch (oh how I longed for Wonder white bread and Twinkies in my school lunch). Every now and then my mom would get crazy and she'd try "new" things like making soap, cottage cheese, and sprouting wheat, etc. I always swore I'd never be doing crazy things like that...my how times change.
