Introduction | "Main Entry: hai·ku Pronunciation: \ˈhī-(ˌ)kü\ Function: noun Inflected Form(s): plural haiku Etymology: Japanese Date: 1902 : an unrhymed verse form of Japanese origin having three lines containing usually five, seven, and five syllables respectively; also : a poem in this form usually having a seasonal reference" (MW Dictionary) This blog originated from what I like to think of as "Haiku Thursdays." I'm a 24 year old unemployed fat girl living in the Chicago area with my boyfriend, our two dogs, and our cat. I'm looking for a job, start grad school in the spring to teach high-school English, am originally from Michigan, graduated from WMU in 2007 with my BA in English and want to haiku everyday. It's not just for Thursdays anymore. |
