| Introduction | I was Born in Yorkshire, England in 1946. My Father was also a Yorkshireman, and my Mother was South African. I Served in the Scots Guards from 1966 to 1973 during which time I visited Northern Ireland, Canada, South America, Kenya, Libya, and most of Western Europe. I was married in 1970 and moved to South Africa in 1979. I have 3 children, one Daughter in the SAPS (State Advocate), one Daughter married to an ex-32 Battalion NCO and a Son with Netcare 911. I started MIBISA in 2000 due to a lack of photographic material related to Military Burials. At other times I hold down a full time job and I have been a member of Disaster Managenment since 1996, having trained in Firefighting, Vehicle Extrication and Medical response. I have completed numerous Firefighting courses including Vegitation Fires and Koeberg response. In the past few years I have been actively involved in the Silvermine, West Coast, Table Mountain, Helderberg, Camps Bay and Melkbos Fires. |
