| Introduction | I came of age in the '60's, and until recently have been proud and happy with that. Lately, due to Hep C, have become less admiring of that time and myself. Yes we are the people our parents warned us about, and now I find myself wishing I had paid some attention to those warnings. I am a second generation Jewish American. My father was a portrait artist who traveled from fair to fair. My mother raised 6 children largely by herself. Of the 6 I am the second oldest and also the oldest male. Have long been interested in public affairs. And no am not referring to sex in public of any sort. Have lived in Juneau since 1977. This small city of 30,000 is the capitol of Alaska. There are no roads in or out. It is only accessible by air and water. I am a graduate of Sonoma State. And never have used my degree in anyway. |
| Interests | Life, family, daughter, weather, thinking, talking, being joyful. |
| Favorite movies | Are those without easy nice endings. 'The Color of Money,' was OK, but 'The Hustler,' with more grit than any sandpaper was magnificent. 'The Last Picture Show,' stark in black and white, has way outdone any of Texasville sequels that followed. I was driving a taxi, at the time 'Taxidriver,' was released. Most of the drivers wanted to see it as they thought it might help them deal with their fares. Wonder what they thought of it after seeing the movie? Did they ask anyone if they were talking to them? And somehow, De Nero IMHO is probably the best film actor ever. 'Nobody's Fool,' charmed my socks off. Perhaps it was because of the scene where his grandson it driving while sitting on Newman's lap. Loved it when my daughter has done that. 'Easy Rider,' makes me now cringe with embarrassment, but 'The Graduate' has held up well. When 'American Graffiti' came out I went to see it. Then I talked my brother into seeing it with me. We sat through it twice! And then I went with my SO. You probably would say that movie really struck a cord with me! |
