IntroductionMy husband Frank Doden and I have lived in Miami Township (Yellow Springs) since 1998. We're both retired teachers. We grew up on neighboring farms in Iowa. We jointly owned a quarter section of land (160 acres) for the first several decades of our marriage, which we rented as farmland to a family member for many years. We later restored that land to wetlands and prairie. We transferred all the land to the state of Iowa in 2018 as one part of a large permanently preserved conservation area. We have raised two children, have hosted several international exchange students, and love helping folks live their best lives. I'm running for Miami Township because I care deeply about good governance, accountability, and our collective survival. Democracy and civil discourse are core values. Political representatives as individuals and as a group should welcome democratic participation and the input of the people. I will seek to enhance the Township board as a vital, well-run, accountable institution for our area--the rural areas and the two villages, Clifton and Yellow Springs.
