Introduction	We took up sailing dinghies in 1994 and progressed to yachts three years later. Following Mike's early retirement in 1998, he took a "gap year" sailing as crew on various yacht deliveries, before we bought our own boat Island Drifter, a 37ft Countess cutter-rigged ketch, in 1999. Three months later we went on our first Atlantic Circuit. For the following ten years we used our own boat whenever possible and Mike took up skippering deliveries as a part-time occupation.
