| Introduction | I entered my first ministry position ten years ago as worship leader for a mid-sized Southern Baptist church in Southern California and have spent the past two years planting a missional community in Glendale, Arizona. In between, I have served as pastor in downtown San Diego, College Pastor in Southeast, Los Angeles, and as associate pastor for a large church in Arizona (Community Church of Joy). From mega-church to church plant, from mainline to emerging expressions of church, I have enjoyed the privilege of learning how to develop a discipleship culture in virtually every expression of church in North America. Together with my wife and children, we have recently pioneered Open Heaven, a missional community in Glendale, Arizona. Rooted in the vision, values and vocabulary of the 3DM DNA (www.3dministries.com), almost every member is being intentionally discipled and learning to contribute significantly as members of the body of Christ and make more disciples. In only a short time we are already planning our departure, as emerging leaders are ready to take over and lead the charge to make more disciples, and thus grow the church. |
